What is mother-of-pearl?

Mother-of-pearl is the inner coating of certain shells. These iridescent layers of aragonite are particularly appreciated for decoration, jewelry and buttons.

Yellowing mother-of-pearl, how to clean mother-of-pearl jewelry?

Sometimes mother-of-pearl becomes tarnished, but don't panic, there are solutions.

  • Clean with cold soapy water
  • Rinse and dry
  • Then polish with a soft cloth dipped in a mixture of water and lemon.
  • Finally, add a few drops of oil to give the highlights a boost.
