














































Under French law, silver jewelry is required to have a master hallmark and a guarantee hallmark. The Minerva head hallmark is the most commonly used. It applies to silver jewelry weighing 30 grams or more.
Sometimes, the manufacturer adds the 925 hallmark to indicate that the jewelry has been made from 925 Sterling Silver.

Silver is a precious metal on a par with gold and platinum. By definition, pure silver contains 99 to 100% silver. In the jewelry industry, one or more metals are added to make it harder and easier to work.
The silver used to make jewelry therefore contains a minimum of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. Hence the name925 Silver or 925 Sterling Silver.
