Need a little light in your living room? Our string lights look great inside customized Mason Jars, or you can cover their LED bulbs with original felt or fabric shapes for a children's room to spread soft colors around the room.
Here are the essential steps for creating your own home-made lamp at an affordable price:
1) Choose your electrical equipment: an electrical cord, a socket, a switch placed around 35 cm from the lamp and a flat or round socket.
2) Install your electrical equipment: see our step-by-step video tutorial.
3) Make your lampshade: depending on the desired shape of your lampshade, opt for bare metal circles or lampshade carcasses, which will form the structure and framework of your lamp. Cover with tissue paper, paper patch, fabric, masking tape, ribbons... anything goes!
Tip: using adhesive polyphane, you can easily attach paper and fabric to your frame, stiffening your lampshade and opacifying the final result. You can use a glue gun to attach it to your metal hoops or carcass.
4) Choose your lamp base: depending on the desired aesthetic effect, let your imagination run wild. Create a concrete base for a contemporary, industrial look, a colorful base with original shapes using polymer clay, a classic, streamlined base using cold porcelain... or opt for our wooden bases to customize (or not!).
5) Choose your bulb: low-energy, LED, halogen, filament...it will determine the mood of the room and the power consumption of your installation.
