How to use these protective rings?
In your DIY creations, these protection rings play a key role when assembling wire-wound jewelry. The wire passes through the protection ring, then returns to the bead to be crushed, which serves to block the assembly:
- Pass the wire through the crush bead, then through one of the holes in your protection ring.
- Pass the wire through the other hole in the protection ring.
- Pass it back through the bead to be crushed and you're ready to go!
As you can see from the example shown in the second photo, the ring protects the wire from wear and tear caused by friction from the clasp or attachment ring.
