17If you're looking to make beaded earrings with fringe, you've come to the right place. In this bead weaving video tutorial, we'll look at how to create earrings with the double brick stitch technique. You don't need a beading loom for this project! You will need a weaving needle and weaving thread only. Brick stitch involves creating a line of beads as a base using ladder stitch, then weaving beads one by one onto that base using the thread connecting the beads on the base as a hook for the new beads. The beads are then woven in a staggered pattern and the weave looks like a brick wall.
Double Brick Stitch is a variation of this technique. Instead of weaving the beads one by one, they are woven two by two. This is not complicated at all. Just consider the two beads as one slightly larger bead. This can even be done as a triple brick stitch with three beads. The beads used are delicas 11/0 from Miyuki.
The earring is divided into two parts: The weaving in double Brick Stitch corresponding to the triangle and the beaded bangs. The tension of the thread is very important for this second part. We will see at the end of the video. Know that if your bangs are a little twisted at the end, you can pass them under hot water, smooth them with your fingers and then hang them to dry straight.
