Learn the technique of brick stitch and double brick stitch in this tutorial by our partner designer Sandrine aka Moon & Sun. You'll be able to create a pretty pair of woven earrings with a flower pattern.
Our creative partner Sandrine aka Moon & Sun brings you this tutorial of woven ear rings with a half-flower pattern. A few weeks ago, we offered you the tutorial with a two-bar hoop pendant, today discover the one with the one-bar pendant.
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to weave with brick stitch and double brick stitch. To complete this project, you won't need a loom, just a weaving needle and weaving thread. For those unfamiliar with loop brick stitch, it's actually a variation on simple brick stitch. Instead of weaving the beads one by one, we weave them two by two. Don't worry, there's nothing complicated about it. Just think of the two beads as a single bead. You can even make a triple brick stitch with three beads.
For this tutorial, the beads used are Miyuki Delica 11/0. You're free to choose the colors you like, as we have a very wide selection of Delica 11/0 on the site. It's also possible to repeat the pattern on the first part of the pendant to create a whole flower motif. And to personalize your earrings even further, you can replace the ear hook with a fancier ear stud.
If you reproduce this tutorial, don't hesitate to share your jewelry on social networks by tagging our Instagram account, our TikTok account or our Facebook page. We love to see what you make!

Weave the first row using double brick stitch.

Weave rows 2, 3 and 4 in double brick stitch, following the same pattern.

Thread 3 beads to start row 5. You can then start the row by leaving the first bead and threading the needle through the last 2 beads.

Continue the row in double brick stitch and finish it by weaving a bead in single brick stitch.

Weave the last row using simple brick stitch.

The weaving is complete. Camouflage the threads by passing them through the beads. Gently insert any protruding weaving edges into the hoop.
Add the ear hook to finalize your earring.
You can do the same for the second earring.
