Discover this bohemian chic jewelry tutorial inspired by travels in warm countries to counter the winter cold. The pretty colored gemstones will warm up your sweaters and blouses and dress up your summer dresses with chic. This set of two matching bohemian style necklaces go perfectly together and complete each other but feel free to make only one. The long necklace is adjustable and can be worn in many ways. For example, you can wear it with a bare back and put the wires with the charms in your back, or wear it completely backwards.
This necklace is made of a colorful braided cord with a touch of gold and 925 silver charms with a carnelian imitation stone in orange tones. As a clasp, it has a pearl stopper in which the threads slide. This necklace is therefore adjustable to the desired length. The colored cord exists in other colors.
The second necklace is made with a set of dyed agate beads. A pretty flat carnelian bead surrounded by golden rings adds a chic touch to the necklace. The closure is a classic in costume jewelry design: a spring clasp, wired wire guards and small crushable beads seal the whole. The beads are strung on a wired wire, both flexible and rigid.
Please note, we did not use all the beads in the dyed Agate mix in the material list. The very dark beads were removed from the necklace. It takes several strands of this mixture of stones to compose the necklace. Depending on the size of your neck, you may need to take a third bag or use the darker beads. If you put the dark beads aside, you can use them to make a discreet bracelet using exactly the same technique as the necklace.
The necklace is 1m long so don't cut the cord unless it's too long for your taste. Cut a small piece of scotch tape and wrap it around the end of the cord tightly. This will make it easier to thread the cord onto the spacer, but you don't want the tape to be too thick. Trim the tape at a bevel if necessary. Do this for the second piece of thread as well.
Remove the tape and place the clamp-on tips on the wire ends. Add a little glue before closing the legs on the cord. Trim the cord if necessary.
Fold the wire in half and cut in the middle to separate the wire into two equal pieces. Put a piece of tape over the two new pieces of wire and thread them through the stopper bead, crossing them: Once the first thread is through, grab it on both sides of the bead with your thumb and forefinger at the base of the bead to pull the cord against the hole in the bead to free up room to pass the other cord through.
Repeat step 2 to put two pliers on each end.

Cut about 80 cm of wire, more if you have a wide neck. Thread a squeeze bead, pass the wire through the wire guard and back into the squeeze bead. Keep 10 cm of wire end and flatten the bead with the second notch of the crush bead pliers then fold it in 2 with the first notch. A problem? Then place the bead cover to be crushed on top and close it with the first notch of the pliers.
String the beads 18 multicolor agates (without the black ones), 1 gold washer, 5 orange agates, 1 washer, 5 multicolor agates, 1 gold washer, 5 orange agates, 1 washer, 5 multicolor agates, 1 gold washer, 5 orange agates, 3 washers, the flat bead, and then do the same reversing the order of beads.
Adjust the number of beads to the size of your neck.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 to put the wire guard on the other end of the wire.
Add the clasp and extension chain with two open rings.
