How to use a silkscreen on polymer clay? The technique is simple, you need Fimo, Sculpey or Cernit paste then screen printing screens specially designed for polymer clay that's called silkscreen . Then choose your color of acrylic paint , note that some paints have difficulty drying on the raw dough while others will dry quickly, we recommend acrylic paints cream.
Step 1
Prepare a white plate at the medium dough of the dough machine with about 3 or 4 bars of your dough. Put the silkscreen on your plate, be careful you have to position it upside down ie the lighter color of the screen is facing you.

2nd step
Roll the roll over so that the silkscreen adheres well to the dough. Put a strip of paint directly on the edge of a card, pass the card on the stencil well flat, there should not be extra paint in places. Remove and wash your silkscreen immediately under soapy water with care.

Step 3
Remove 2 rounds of 3 cm in the plate with a punch. Cut your rounds roughly in 2 with a blade. We do not keep the top of the circles.

Step 4
Prepare a small red plate, pass it in the dough machine at the same level as for the white plate. Take two other pieces with the same round cookie cutter. Cut them to keep only their upper part.

Step 5
Cook your polymer pieces at 120 degrees for 30 minutes. Color the edges of the half rounds with the patterns by pressing the edges of the pieces on the black ink pad.

Step 6
Patterns made with acrylic on the polymer must be protected by either a varnish, uv or epoxyresin or with translucent polymer clay. We chose to protect them with a spray varnish. If you only put one application your creation will be protected but will not shine, that's what we did. You can put a second coat in spray to get shine.

Step 7
Drill your pieces with a hand mandrel or drill about 2 mm from the edge, but be careful not to get too close to avoid breaking the edges. It takes 3 holes for the red part and 2 for the reasons.

Step 8
Pass your rings in the 2 holes to connect your 2 half-rounds. Open the loop of your ear hook, pass it through the hole in the top of the red piece and close the loop with a pair of pliers.
