Fimo neon tie and dye hoop earrings

How to create tie and tie fluorescent creoles with polymer clay? You will find in this tutorial an easy method to obtain a succession of colors on the same dough yarn. There can be as many shades as you want, you will only be limited by the length of the extruder tube. The colors worked are those of the very latest neon Fimo in the Fimo Effect range, they bring a very summery touch to all creations.

  • Step 1

Prepare your 3 colors of neon fimo pasta by passing them one after the other in the thickest notch dough machine, you can for this step which does not need precision use a roller if you do not have MAP. With a cookie cutter of about 2 cm take in the different colors 2 or 3 rounds. Build a cylinder by placing these circles end to end.

Create a cylinder of colored pasta

  • 2nd step

Roll the cylinder under your hand on a support to slightly reduce its diameter so that it can be inserted into the extruder. Place the end piece which has 19 small holes after the cylinder, then screw the metal end of the extruder.

Extrude the dough by turning the crank, colored pasta threads magically stand out with all the colors one after the other in a slight gradient.

  • Stage 3

Take a wire, start to place it by crushing it a little on the stem or there is the butterfly that will be cut later. Wind the entire length of the wire on the creole with regularity and patience, it is quite possible to add a second wire if you do not have the necessary length this is what was done for this tutorial.

Wrap the colored wire around the creole

  • Step 4

It's a tip, a tip, you can cook your creoles on baking soda on a plate to avoid having marks on your dough due to the crushing of the polymer on a hard support. Bake at 120 degrees for 30 minutes. Wait until your earrings are cool and then with a brush remove the bicarbonate residues. It is not advisable to varnish polymeric pieces in relief because this brightens the plastic side of the material, leave your creation as it is.
