Start by picking up the gingham ribbon - it's important to have two so that you have enough length to close the collar and adjust it easily.

This Vichy ribbon necklace, combining comfort and retro style, is easy to make. Its customization is unlimited, allowing you to create a unique piece of jewelry to suit your tastes. Ideal for a quick DIY project, it's easy to wear every day.
Want to create a necklace that's a little different from the classic models, easy to wear and simple to make? This tutorial is for you. We suggest you create a necklace using Vichy ribbon, an original textile base that immediately adds a vintage and graphic touch to the jewel. Combined with large-hole beads and a few stainless steel charms, this necklace is light, comfortable and full of character, without the need for complicated techniques.
This necklace is part of an accessible DIY approach, designed to leave room for creativity. The ribbon is structured by a series of knots that give rhythm to the jewel and make it easy to integrate beads and charms. The large-hole beads glide naturally over the ribbon, making assembly smooth and enjoyable, even for beginners. The charms, attached with open rings, add the finishing touch and give the necklace its personality.
We particularly like the contrasting red and white of the gingham ribbon, which adds a real retro twist, while remaining easy to match for everyday wear. This choice of material allows us to move away from traditional chains and create a different piece of jewelry, both simple and visually powerful. The adjustable clasp, made with a bead tube, lets you adjust the length to suit your mood and outfit.
This model is fully customizable. You can vary the ribbons, change the bead colors, opt for more discreet or more pronounced charms, or create a brighter version with silver charms. Each combination allows you to create a necklace that's uniquely your own.
A quick and accessible DIY project, ideal to make for yourself or to give as a gift. And if you make this tutorial, don't hesitate to share your creation on Instagram, TikTok orFacebook by tagging @PerlesAndCo or with the hashtag #jenfiledesperlesetjassume. We can't wait to see your versions!

Start by picking up the gingham ribbon - it's important to have two so that you have enough length to close the collar and adjust it easily.

Make 4 knots on the ribbon, trying to space them at roughly the same distance apart.
These spaces will then be used to attach the large-hole beads and charms.

Once the 4 knots are made, thread a bead with a large hole on each side of each knot.

Using open rings, hang the charms and place them between the knots.
Add 3 charms evenly distributed along the necklace, then carefully close the rings.
Are you a beginner and don't know how to open rings?
Don't worry, the technical data sheet explains it all.

Then take the two remaining ends of the ribbon and thread them together through the same bead tube.
Tie a knot on each ribbon to create an adjustment system, which allows the necklace to be adapted to the desired length.
Finally, gently burn the ribbon ends to prevent fraying.
Your necklace is ready!
