In this tutorial, we show you how to personalize a stainless steel bracelet by weaving pastel cotton thread around the side. Start by cutting the chain to the desired length. Take a little shorter than the diameter of your wrist, as the clasp is quite wide.
To cut the chain, you can use this video: How to open large stainless steel links? Large links are quite difficult to open. If you can't, you can cut it using the DREMEL 3000 and the 32 mm cut-off wheel.
Select five colors of thread. Cut one meter of thread for each color, repeating five times to obtain 25 threads of one meter each.
Tie all wires together at one end. Separate the group of wires into two parts, then start braiding by inserting one half of the wires into the warp.
Refer to the attached photos to follow the braiding steps around the chain. Pass each group of wires through each link once, for a thicker, fuller look.
When you reach the last link, tie a knot with all the wires.
Cut the wires protruding from each knot (at both ends) to create pretty pompons on each side.
Insert the charm into the open ring and thread it through the braided wires where you wish.
Add the clasp to the end of the chain.
Your pretty bracelet is finished!
