Long necklace pendant red flower petals

What to do with plastic petals?

This necklace is very quick to make. We offer this tutorial to give you an idea of how to use the plastic flower petals available in our store. To make this pendant necklace, you will need a set of 3 jewelry pliers: a cutter, a round tip pliers and a flat tip pliers. A few minutes will be enough to make this jewel.

Choose your sequin flower petals. There are several choices available: crumpled or flat, and a dozen different colors. We chose the red crumpled petals. The chain and primers used are in light gold and were carefully chosen for their similarity in gold color. The open rings are gold filled, but that was the closest to the color of the chain and clasp. You can also be inspired by this combination of primers for other creations. By the way, you will have some chain left over to make a bracelet or earrings. For example, the chain is also used in this tutorial: Half moon earrings with amazonite beads.

This necklace can be worn with a pretty spring liberty dress, a cream colored mid-season sweater and many other clothes for this spring. You can pair this necklace with dangling earrings with the same petals. You can take one of the pairs of earrings listed in the variation section at the bottom of the page.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Long necklace pendant red flower petals : Step 1

The only technique you need to know in this tutorial is how to open and close open rings. These are rings that have been cut at one point and are used to connect two items.

The mistake that beginners make is to pull the two ends of the ring apart, except that this deforms the ring, making it oval, and then it is very difficult to get it back to a nice round shape.

The method is to rotate the two ends from one side to the other, slide the elements in, then close by rotating in the other direction and make 1 or 2 slight back and forth so that the two ends are well face to face and touch.

Step 2

Thread 2 petal sequins onto 4 different rings. Be careful to thread the petals in one direction, then in the other for the second, so that they do not interlock and remain well in volume.

Step 3

Thread the 4 rings with the sequins on a fifth ring. Cut 62 cm of chain. You can make it longer or shorter. Test it on yourself to be sure of the length. Thread the chain through the fifth ring.

Step 4

Attach the clasp with a ring and attach a ring to the other end of the chain as well.
