DIY Creoles olive green beads and gold washers

Easily make your creoles with colored beads and gold washers thanks to this tutorial that lists the necessary materials. This is a DIY jewelry without jewelry tongs. Easily start creating custom earrings without having to invest in equipment.

These hoop earrings are made of 14K gold filled recycled gold. Gold filled is thicker than gold plated, even if the gold used is less precious, it keeps its appearance and resistance to oxidation. It is also more resistant to wear and tear than gold-plated. Gold pearls and gold washers are gilded with fine gold, so this time the plating is thinner than gold-plated but still oxidizes less quickly than brass. If you wish to use more precious pearls and washers, go to our gold filled pearls category.

These earrings will cost you a little less than 13 euros (without stopper beads) and you will still have 10 4 mm beads, 6 6 mm beads and 2 4 mm gold plated washers left. However, if you are tempted to make more than one, be aware that prices are decreasing at Perles and Co. For example, if you take enough to make 10 pairs of creoles, it will cost you about 9.30 euros per pair instead of about 13 euros. That's enough to make a lot of little gifts!

Olive green beads come in many other trendy colours. Discover these colourful round resin beads without further ado. You can also make two-coloured earrings.

To make these earrings, nothing could be simpler: Thread the beads on the stem of the creole in the order you want. You can also put stopper beads on each side of the beads. These stoppers have a rubber coating on the inside of the hole, which will keep the beads in place on the creole and allow you to thread them without risk of dropping them.

If you're worried about losing the creoles while you're wearing them, bend the end of the stem with round pliers or add a stopper for ear studs.

Tutorial steps

Step 1

To finish your creoles and prevent the beads from falling off, you can add stopper beads on each side. So you will need 4 stopper beads. To prevent the earrings from slipping out of your ear, you can also slightly bend the end of the earring with a round clip. To do this, position your pliers a few millimetres from the end, perpendicular to the wire of the creole and push the end against the pliers with your thumb. This way, you will not deform the creole.
