Flower Earrings in Metallic Cernit

This tutorial is made from Cernit polymer with the latest colours from the Metallic range. These colours are marvellous, the shiny and iridescent aspect is due to the mica powders that are included in the paste, after firing this paste is satiny, it looks soft and is luminous.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Flower Earrings in Metallic Cernit : Step 1

Take a small amount of pearly white dough, use gloves to crush it under your fingers to prepare it to pass through the dough machine, pass it to the thickest notch. Turn one end of the baking sheet over onto the pan, press down on the reverse side to make the dough penetrate well, remove your flower and make another one.

Gently cut the edges of the flowers with your blade following the marks.

Step 2
Flower Earrings in Metallic Cernit : Step 2

Take your flower in your hand and crush each petal with your fingers. Then take a ball modelling tool to elongate and form the petals. Place a small piece of baking paper on a petal and gently run your fingers over the surface to smooth it. If your white flowers get dirty or dusty you can wipe the surface with a damp cloth.

Step 3
Flower Earrings in Metallic Cernit : Step 3

Pierce the centre of your flowers then place them on a piece of aluminium foil, raise the edges slightly to give a little volume to the flowers. Bake your pieces in a traditional oven at 120 degrees.

Step 4
Flower Earrings in Metallic Cernit : Step 4

Thread an insert washer on a stem nail with a golden flower head. Pass the stems through the hole in the flowers.

Step 5
Flower Earrings in Metallic Cernit : Step 5

Put each bead on a flat-headed nail, leave 1 cm and then cut the thread. With a pair of pliers with round ends make a loop that you will close on one of the rings of the spacer bar. Pass another ring on the other side and connect this piece to the ear nail.

Step 6
Flower Earrings in Metallic Cernit : Step 6

Use the stem of the flower which is flexible enough to surround the golden bar.

Step 7
Flower Earrings in Metallic Cernit : Step 7

Here is another example of flower making, this time with Cernit Metallic violet paste and other primers but working with the same set-up as the white flowers. You will find the references below.
