Here's a video on a fancy crochet stitch for a staggered fan pattern. To make this stitch, you'll make repetitive combinations of loose stitches, tight stitches and bridles.
The width of the work will enable you to make a nice, warm scarf for this winter, but of course once you've figured out how to do this stitch, you can branch out into different works.
The wool used is quite thick, so you can use 4 mm hooks for a much tighter stitch, but if you want the result to be a little looser and the stitches bigger, you can use a 6 mm hook like me.
Hang the yarn on the hook and make 25 stitches in the air plus one, so 26 stitches (26 ml).
First row
-Make a tight stitch in the stitch just below where your hook is.
-Skip the next two stitches, then in the next one, make 5 bridles in the same stitch.
-Skip two stitches, then in the next stitch, make a tight stitch.
Continue alternating stitches until the end of the row, finish with two stitches in the air, then turn the work over.
Second row
Finish the row by making two purls in the last purl of the row below, make three stitches in the air and then turn your work over.
Third row
Finish the row by making a tight stitch in the third bridle of the group of 3 bridles of the row below, finish with a stitch in the air and then turn your work.
At the end of the third row, continue by repeating the sequence of the second row, then repeat the pattern of the third row, alternating between the second and third rows until you have completed your work.
