How to knit a purl stitch?

Knitting is a manual activity far from being a has-been. On the contrary, it is totally trendy. It is one of the favorite creative hobbies of women creators, it is even addictive.

How to do the stockinette stitch?

Discover in this videohow to do the stockinette stitch (purl stitch). The purl stitch is a stitch that alternates a purl stitch and a front stitch. It is the most common stitch after the foam stitch.
A little trick torecognize the purl and reverse stitch: the reverse side forms small waves while the right side forms small "V".

Tutorial steps

Step 1

Start by knitting a whole row of purl stitches.

Step 2

Turn the work over and knit the entire row in purl stitch.

Step 3

Stitch the needle straight through to get it under the thread. Your thread should always stay forward.

Step 4

Wrap the thread to the back of the right needle over and under the right needle.

Step 5

Pass the tip of the right needle through the loop of the left stitch to bring it out under the left needle.

Step 6

Push your right needle up to drop the stitch from the left needle while holding the others with your index finger.

Step 7

You now have a new stitch slipped onto the right needle, continue the purl stitch for the entire row.
