Miyuki bead shapes and sizes

Miyuki pearls are seed beads from Japan. Perfectly regular, they are much appreciated by beaders and bead-weavers alike. The best known are Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads, but there are many other shapes and sizes.

What's the difference between Delicas and rocailles?

• Miyuki Delica pearls are tubular in shape and perfectly calibrated. The size of the beads is identical whatever the color. They are ideal for very regular weaving.
• Miyuki rocailles are rounded and fairly regular. Weaving with rocailles will have a less flat, smooth finish and be slightly less regular than with Miyuki Delica.
