Today Sarah aka La petite Fimo d'Elle brings you a technical video to explain how to clean your Imperia clay machine, but she'll also show you in detail how to disassemble the clay machine!
Find her on Facebook and on her Instagram page too.
The Sfogliatrice Imperia dough machine has 6 setting notches, perfect for working with polymer clay - in short, a must-have for all polymerists!
So why clean it? Quite simply because if there's any colored clay left on the blade, you can stain your polymer clay, especially if it's white or light-colored. It's happened to all of us - you know what I mean...
To give you a quick overview, here's the information you'll find in this video:
Here's a quick recap.
Unscrew and remove the side of the machine.
Remove the first rod, then the blade, then repeat the operation.
To clean the machine, take a sheet of paper towel and wipe the blades several times over the paper, as well as the rods.
When they're clean, you can put them back in. Put the first blade in the right direction, then the stem, and repeat the operation with the second blade, then the second stem.
Finally, screw the plate back onto its side.
After closing, to clean the rollers, run a sheet of paper towel over them, cranking it like clay several times.
Last but not least, give the blades underneath a quick wipe down and voilà, your machine is clean!
Sarah's tip: "I don't re-screw the plate on the side because I've got into the habit of cleaning my clay machine every day because I use it so often."
And now your machine is as clean as a whistle!
