This bead is also known as a bicorne, spiral bead or spinning top.
To make a polymer clay bicorne, you'll need to work with a ball of polymer clay and a transparent plastic or glass plate.
When we speak of a Swirl bead, we mean that a swirling pattern forms at the top of the bicone.
To do this, take 2 different colors of clay and make a ball of each color of equal size.
Cut each ball in half, then make a ball of the two colors.
Position your plate on the ball, visualize a central point on the plate and on the top of the ball, then make a rotating movement to make your bicone rise. It takes about 30 rotations to obtain a spiral pattern.
Many variations can be made to this technique, for example by using different colors of clay in the form of wedges in the ball.
You can also use the ends of the ducks to reconstitute a ball as for the others (half-ball or quarter of clay) and add a pattern to the spiral.
When your bicorne is well assembled, you can, if you wish, soften the tips by continuing your rotation with the plate and pressing more in the center to flatten it.
