How to sew piping in a straight line and curved?
The piping is a kind of ribbon that covers a cord. It is used as a finishing for the edges of your sewing projects or as a decorative separation between two pieces of fabric. The piping adds a touch of finesse to clothing and other decorative projects.
More precisely the piping is a bias with a cord sewn in its center so as to form a bead.
Sewing piping is very easy but requires the right tools and accuracy. You will need a zipper foot or a special piping foot .

Sew straight piping between two tissues
Pin the piping and the first piece of fabric right side up, the piping edge toward the edge of the fabric. Place the beginning of the cord 1 cm from the edge, equivalent to the seam margin.

Sew closer to the cord.

Pin the second piece of fabric right side to side with the first piece. Sew again close to the rope.

Turn everything over and iron the iron to open the seams and flatten the whole thing. Fold the tongue of the piping under the first fabric.
For a nice finish, topstitch 1 or 2 mm of the piping on the first fabric.

Sew piping in curve or right angle
Sewing curved piping is easy. Pin the piping along the curve of the fabric. To sew at a right angle or at a sharper angle, cut or notch the piping without cutting the seam of the piping. Then, pin the piping, trying to follow as far as possible the edge of the fabric.
