How to polish polymer clay parts?

How do I make my polymer clay jewel shiny?

We show you in this video a demonstration of the use of a polishing machine . In this specific case, Karine shows us how to install and use it to polish cabochons created in polymer clay .

The first step is sanding using Sculpey grit 800 and then 1000 grit sandpaper. The second step is manual polishing using micro-mesh abrasive sponges . These two steps are done in soapy water. Then, Karine explains to us how to put the reel in place using small suction cups as well as the precautions to be followed, in particular the wearing of a mask and protective glasses. Finally, the last step, automatic polishing with the grinder.

The material presented in the video is available at the bottom of the page.
