Black onyx is not originally black. It is treated by being immersed in a solution of black sugar and acid. The soft, porous nature of the stone allows the solution to soak in. After immersion, the stone is then heated. This is a common process that makes the color deeper and more durable.
How to make jewelry the easy way?
Create a fine ring in just a few minutes, simply by gluing your black Onyx stone onto a ring to be decorated.
Attach your cabochon to a pendant setting and connect to a chain. Wear your new necklace as you wish: on its own or stacked with other chains.
Create a stainless steel bracelet by attaching two pieces of large mesh chain to an inlay setting. Close your bracelet with a lobster clasp and you're done!
Create a pair of dangling earrings. Simply attach your gemstone to an inlay setting. Then add studs on one side and a pendant or tassel on the other.
