Stacking necklace made of gold filled

How to stack a necklace successfully

Here's a trendy, easy-to-make necklace idea. The trend is for simple multirang, a gold chain wrapped several times around the neck with pendants and charms. Ultra-simple to make, this tutorial is suitable for all beginners and budding designers.

Spacers for moon-shaped jewelry are very popular this year, and you can find all kinds with different galvanizations in our store. The gold filled pendant with zirconium oxide is available in several colors if you don't like red. Choose from pink, violet or blue.

What is 14 K (585 thousandths) gold filled? Gold filled (laminated gold) is the treatment of a metal (often based on brass) by the mechanical application of a layer of gold alloy of varying titration. The weight of gold alloy corresponds to 1/20 of the total weight of the product.

On the technical side, don't panic. You don't need to be an expert jeweler to make this gold filled necklace. All you need to know is how to open a ring. To help you revise this basic gesture, visit our technical data sheet.
As for tools, you don't need much. All you'll need is a pair of jewelry pliers to manipulate the joining rings. Not sure which tools to use? Use our tool tip to find out which pliers to use.

Step 3

Use pliers to cut the chain down the middle, insert rings at the end and a Lobster Clasp on one side.

Step 4

On the longer chain, place a ring in a link 18 cm from one end. Pass the pendant hole through this ring, and close the ring. Place a ring at each end, followed by a snap hook. This chain wraps twice around the neck and is worn with the moon chain. This is the principle of the Stacking necklace.

Bonjour,
