Fancy cross bracelet with two-component epoxy resin

How to make jewelry with two-component epoxy resin?

Make a trendy bracelet by creating your own spacer using a metal support with a tray base for casting opaque black resin. Learn how to add elements to the resin to customize your spacer. You can add crosses, charms, rhinestones, cabochons and shells.

As you know, at Perles&Co we're a bit curious... so don't hesitate to show us the results of your creations by sharing a photo of your work with us on social networks: our Facebook page and our Instagram page.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Fancy cross bracelet with two-component epoxy resin : Step 1

When using two-component resin, you should always use twice as much resin as hardener. First of all, you need to know if you're going to be making several pieces to decide how much to mix. For small quantities, you can use the pipettes included in the protection kit (sold separately) rather than the small plastic cups supplied. Don't forget that resin is a dangerous product to inhale and touch, so protect yourself by wearing gloves and a mask.

Step 2

Fill your support by pouring in the resin. Fill it to the brim. Fill your other parts if you wish, as this resin lends itself well to molding, so don't hesitate to use our molds. In general, transparent molds will leave your resin shiny after demolding, whereas white silicone molds will give a matte appearance. Be patient - don't touch your piece until the following day.

Step 3

Mix the 2 black resin components a second time. This time, drip a large drop onto the surface of the set resin. Use a toothpick, for example, to spread the drop over the surface. Now you can place a charm or anything else you like on the surface without it sinking to the bottom. Wait another day before touching up. Protect your pieces from dust by putting a box lid over them.

Step 4

Pass one of the rings of the resin spacer through the most closed loop of the bracelet, opening and closing it with a pair of pliers. On the other side of the spacer, pass an open ring, closing it with pliers. Leave the bracelet buckle open so you can hook the last ring onto it and close it on your wrist, even independently.
