Cut about 70 cm of wire, then thread a crimp bead onto it. Thread the wire through the wire protector and back through the crimp bead. Squeeze the crimp bead closed using flat-nose pliers or crimping pliers.

Thread 6 bead rings onto the wire, then attach the wire to the last link of the chain using an open jump ring.

Close the ring using two flat-nose pliers.

Slide the cord through the 7th link of the chain.

Thread 6 more bead beads onto the wire and pass the wire through the 7th link, alternating the direction from the previous step so that the bead beads sit above or below the chain.

Continue in this manner until you reach the desired length. In this tutorial, we repeated the process 15 times to make a 54-centimeter necklace, not including the extension chain.

Using a good pair of wire cutters (stainless steel is relatively difficult to cut), cut the last link of the chain, leaving 7 links.

You now have the 6 beads on the pearl-coated thread on one side and the end of the chain with 7 links on the other.

Thread a crimp bead onto the wire, add a wire protector, and thread the wire back through the crimp bead.

Slide the thread through the 6 pearl beads, then pull the thread to position the crimp bead as close as possible to the last pearl bead.

Squeeze the crimp bead using flat-nose pliers or crimping pliers.

Cut off the remaining wire using wire cutters.

Attach the row of pearl beads to the chain using an open ring.

Now we’re going to make the charms. We used 1 mm stainless steel pins for this tutorial, but they’re stiff and therefore quite difficult to shape. To make things easier, we recommend using 0.6 mm flat-head pins. You’ll need to add a gold seed bead to the pin before threading on the ceramic bead. The holes in ceramic beads vary in size; the pin head might be too small and slip through the hole, so the seed bead will hold the bead in place on the pin.

Bend the nail at a right angle using a pair of flat-nose pliers

Cut the nail, leaving about 1 cm.

Use round-nose pliers to form a loop on the nail.

Attach the open rings to the lemon charms.

Using an open ring, attach the square ceramic charm to the center of the necklace, on the stainless steel chain.

Arrange the charms on your necklace using open jump rings, following the example in the photo shown here. The ceramic heart and the striped circles are hung in the center of 6 pearl beads; the other charms are positioned in the center of the steel chain sections.
