In this video tutorial, we'll make bracelets with ceramic beads and vintage acrylic beads. These blue and white beaded bracelets are perfect for adding an original touch to your summer outfit. Composed of beads in different shades of blue and white, this jewelry also features delicate floral motifs painted on the ceramic beads, adding a little artistic flair to the piece. Whether for a day at the beach or an evening by the pool, this bracelet pairs wonderfully with a wide range of casual or dressy outfits: swimsuits, wetsuits, blouses and beach dresses.
The finishes are in gold-plated stainless steel and Gold Filled, except for the cups and crushable pearls, which are in gold-plated brass. The crushable pearls are hidden in stainless steel crushable pearl covers, so they are not visible on the jewel. Brass crush pearls are much easier to use and to fold in half than gold-plated stainless steel crush pearls. If, despite everything, you don't want to use gold-plated brass in your jewelry, I recommend Gold Filled or Gold Laminé crush beads, which are also flexible. The cups can be replaced by Gold Filled or gold-plated stainless steel cups. They are a little more expensive because of the material used. You'll find all these variations at the bottom of the page in the equipment list. You need 6 cups per bracelet. They are purely decorative.
These bracelets are rather large. Feel free to adapt the size by removing or adding an acrylic bead. If you make the three bracelets as shown, you'll have 3 beads of each color left over. With these 9 remaining beads, you can choose to make a fourth bracelet by adding a clasp and cups (optional) to your basket. You can also choose to make a slightly different bracelet with vintage beads in a variety of shapes, like Carla's : Vintage bead mix bracelet.
Cut 30 cm of wire. Next, thread a squeeze bead to secure the wire and a wire guard to prevent the wire from rubbing against the clasp. Thread the wire through the clasp. Pass the wire end back through the bead to be crushed. Bring the two ends of the wire protector together. Flatten the crush bead with crush bead pliers. Then fold it in half. Pull to check that it holds. Put a crush bead cover over it.
Thread a white nugget pearl, a cup, an oval ceramic pearl, a cup, a white pearl, a cup, a light blue pearl, a cup, a white pearl, a new ceramic pearl with flowers, a white pearl, a cup, a light blue pearl, a cup, a white pearl.
Thread a crush bead and a wire protector. Thread a ring over the wire protector. Pass the wire back through the crush bead. Tighten the bracelet and flatten the bead. Finish as in step 1 with the crush bead cover. Pass the thread back through the last bead and trim off any excess.
