How to make a ring with chain and pearls?

Make a ring in minutes with a lucky eye bead and your leftover pearls. This little project is perfect for using up your leftover pearls and chain, but we'll be delighted if this lucky ring pattern joins your DIY jewelry collection. Endlessly customizable, this ring tuto is also easily adaptable to your finger size. No need to worry about finding the right size.

The Greek eye bead, or Turkish eye, used in this ring tutorial is a symbol dating back to Antiquity which, according to superstition, is supposed to ward off bad luck. This amulet is also known as Nazaar. It's also been a very fashionable motif in recent years, and even more so this summer, with fashion inspired by Greece and Mediterranean countries. These beads were also used in this Gri-gri necklace tutorial. The chain and copper wire are from a more recent tutorial : Fine chain and Tourmaline beads bracelet. The turquoise and fuchsia faceted beads come from a DIY color gradient creole. The gold micro spacers come from the Gold Drop Earrings tutorial, which many of you have adopted. Finally, the gold flower rondelles also come from a popular tutorial: Créoles en perles Aventurine. Take a look (hahaha) at these jewelry tutorials if you haven't already.

Wear this gri-gri ring with a white or black blouse or T-shirt, for example, and accessorize your outfit with several necklaces and heart-shaped creoles. Don't forget to share your creations on social networks and in DIY jewelry communities. Your gri-gri ring could well inspire other designers.

Tutorial steps

Step 1

Cut 6 cm of copper wire. Use round-nose pliers to form a loop 1 cm from the end of the wire. Slide the chain over the loop. Wrap the end of the wire twice around the other part of the wire, under the loop. Fold the end of the copper wire towards the part that will receive the pearls, to hide it inside the pearls.

Step 2

String your pearls. For this ring model, string 1 Micro Spacer bead, 1 4 mm faceted bead, 1 6 mm flower roundel, the eye bead, 1 flower roundel, 1 4 mm bead, 1 Micro Spacer bead.

Step 3

Test the ring on your finger and select the chain length best suited to your finger.

Step 4

Pass the end of the chain through the copper wire and form a new loop. Wrap the wire end twice around the other part of the wire, cut the copper wire back to 1 cm and try to slide the copper end into the beads to hide it. If this doesn't work, cut the wire close to the wrap and flatten the wire end against the ring so that it doesn't scratch you.
