How to make creoles?

You have a desire for precious jewelry or natural stone jewelry? You can make them yourself, and at a lower cost, yes yes! This tutorial shows you in a few steps how to make gold colored earrings very easily (without any technical requirements) and in no time.

Creole ear rings are a timeless piece of jewelry that you must have in your jewelry box. More or less big, wide or thick according to your desires, the creole earrings can take a multitude of appearances and be customized in all ways: creole earrings with charms, creole earrings with pearls, creole earrings in macramé... And as Perles&Co is not short of ideas, find our many tutorials to make creoles fantasies.

To create this pretty pair of creoles in natural stones you will only need creoles to customize, some colored stones, a piece of ball chain and finally a pair of cutting pliers and jewelry glue. And that's all you need! This tutorial simply consists of gluing stone cabochons on the support and creating a fake setting around the stones thanks to the ball chain. Even if it's easier and faster said than done, there's nothing complicated, I promise!

The hardest part, as always, is finally choosing the colors. In the blue model, I opted for an alternation of round and oval shaped cabochons in sodalite. You are free to modify these colors to make, for example, creoles in multicolored stones. This is the idea suggested at the bottom of the page with the association of different natural stones (in order: Sunstone, Sodalite, Green Agate, Red Agate, and Malachite) for a guaranteed precious jewelry effect! Like Aurélie, wear them with your favorite cocoon sweater and enjoy the last rays of sunshine that thisgolden autumn offers us. It's your turn!

Tutorial steps

Step 1

Choose the shapes and colors of your cabochons to glue on the creole, a ball chain, support creoles (more or less large according to your desires). Choose a bi-component glue that allows you to work with the materials long enough before they dry completely.

Step 2

Prepare the two-component glue by mixing a very small amount of the binder and the same amount of hardener in the container provided. Mix with your wooden spatula.

Step 3

Take a little glue with a thin wooden pick for more precision and place your cabochons on your creole. Here the cabochons are placed at regular intervals. This step requires patience and delicacy in order to position them definitively when the glue begins to dry. Before that, it is possible that the cabochons slip.

Step 4

Once the cabochons are secure, cut a piece of ball chain with your cutting pliers to the length needed to go around your round cabochons. To position the chain, you can use the wooden rod for more precision. The chain will then give a crimped effect around the stone.

Step 5

Let dry for several hours, paying attention to the positioning of your cabochons until they are completely dry. Make the second pair.
