DIY PureCrystal metal heart beads

How to make a metal ring?

Making small wire bracelets and personalizing them with beads is very easy. Previously, we showed you how to make bangles with brass wire and then add beads on top. This time we're going for a more delicate variation with beads strung directly on the wire. By the way, some of the material comes from the leftover wire and beads from the tutorial mentioned above. Feel free to reuse your leftover beads for this tutorial.

A little touch of cuteness and delicacy is brought to the bracelets with the PureCrystal beads in the shape of little hearts. There are also crystal butterflies for a more spring-like style.

You can also make this bracelet with gold filled wire or silver 925. The stainless steel on the other hand, will be very difficult to form. This bracelet is made of several turns of wire to increase its strength and also to avoid having to buy two sizes of wire: One to form the bracelets and the other, to wrap around the bracelets to attach the wires and beads. However, it is possible to make beads with a single wire 0.8 mm or 1 mm. We had presented you with tutorials for weekly bracelets some time ago:

Tutorial steps

Step 1
DIY PureCrystal metal heart beads : Step 1

The wire used tends to keep its rounded shape. Try not to distort it too much when unwinding it from the spool. Once you've measured your hand, use a slightly larger glass or triboulet to wind the wire a little more than 3 times to the right size. Then cut it to remove it from the spool.

String your beads on it and slide it around to make a full turn. Thread the thread through the beads a second time and continue to slide them on. Thread the beads onto the wire a third time.

Step 2
DIY PureCrystal metal heart beads : Step 2

Place the two golden beads and the heart at the crossing between the two pieces of wire. The wire will pass through the beads 4 times. This is a little tight, so rotate the beads to move them around. Adjust the size of the bracelets again by gently pulling on the brass wire ends. Run your hand through them to check. Next, hold the wires with pliers so they don't move and wrap one end of the wire around all the other wires. Place the beads against this wrap. Do the same with the other end of the wire on the other side. Trim the excess wire.

Step 3

Attach the other heart opposite with two more pieces of wire about 3 cm long. Tighten them well or they will slip and not hold the beads in place. You can add some bi-component glue, metal glue or UV LED resin to hold them in place.

Cordialement
