How to drill metal with jewellery pliers?

Discover in this video tutorial how to easily make a woman's bracelet in 14K gold filled - 585 millièmesThis tutorial is suitable for beginners, as jewelry assembly is a quick and easy manual activity. With a little practice and patience, you'll master gestures like opening a ring...

Create your gri-gri jewel talisman by incorporating small natural stone charms (here, we've chosen smoky quartz, but other charms in gemstones are available on our site), letter charms, shells,... The only difficulty in creating this DIY jewel is using the correct jewelry piercing pliers. In the video, you'll see how simple it is to make one or more holes in fine metal components.

The trend is always to wear a multitude of bracelets on your wrist. All you need to do is choose and combine them well to sublimate your look. Do it in style by pairing this slender bracelet with running bracelets semainier-style.

Gold-filled jewelry (laminated gold) is precious and long-lasting. It's a qualitative and economical alternative to solid gold. But what exactly is gold filled? Gold filled is the treatment of a metal (often based on brass) to apply a layer of gold alloy of varying titration through a mechanical process. The weight of gold alloy corresponds to 1/20 of the total weight of the product. For the more curious, we explain the différences between Gold Filled and Plaqué Or.

Tutorial steps

Step 1

Pierce the gold-filled elements with the metal piercing pliers.

Step 2

Pass the Forçat chain through the holes in the shell-shaped element. The chain must pass over the element.

Step 3

Place an open ring at the end of the chain and add the rectangle chain in the ring. Do not iron it through the holes in the gold filled element.
Close the ring.

Step 4

Wrap the chains around your wrist to measure the required wrist circumference.
Cut off the excess of both chains with wire cutters.

Step 5

Open a junction ring and use it to connect the two pieces of chain.
Close the ring.

Step 6

Open the spring-loaded clasp ring and attach it to the junction ring you've just closed.
Close the clasp ring with the flat pliers.

Step 7

Add the charms of your choice to the rectangle chain using the open rings.
