To make the petals of the succulent nº1, condition your polymer clay and prepare 6 balls of 1 cm in diameter, 6 balls of 0.7cm in diameter and 3 of 0.5 cm in diameter.
Stop throwing away your glass jars and give them a second life! A recycled glass jar can be a great container for a lot of things: storing food like sugar, coffee, tea, sweets, but also it can be a storage solution. Store your beads, sewing supplies, markers, cotton balls... it's very practical and helps us to organize ourselves in every room of the house. However, we have to admit that a basic jar is neither pretty nor decorative. Discover in this tutorial how to make a Zero Waste DIY and how to customize your jar lids with polymer clay!

To make the petals of the succulent nº1, condition your polymer clay and prepare 6 balls of 1 cm in diameter, 6 balls of 0.7cm in diameter and 3 of 0.5 cm in diameter.

If possible, work with gloves to avoid fingerprints.
Make a cone with each ball by rolling the ball to the side.

Crush the cone in the palm of your hands to form a petal shape.

You get a triangular petal shape

Shape the petal into a diamond shape.

Place the petal in the palm of your hand and with your index finger rub it, without pressing hard, from top to bottom.

The petal will bend and look just like a real succulent petal.

Do the same for all your rooms.

To make luscious #1, crush a 1cm diameter ball as a base on a baking sheet.

First, arrange 3 petals in this way with the help of a dotting tool. Press on the base of the petals to weld them well.

Place the remaining three petals in the open spaces and solder them to the base.

Do the same for the second row of petals, arrange them in a corolla.

Endin, arrange and weld the small petals by pushing the dough.

With purple dry pastel and a brush, colour in only the tips of the petals.

Set aside while making the succulent nº2 and 3.

For succulent #2, do exactly the same for the petals, except that instead of giving the petals a diamond shape, pinch only the top of the rounding.

Curl the petals in the palm of your hand, rubbing your index finger lightly up and down on the piece.

Weld your petals as explained in step 10. Reserve for the making of succulent nº3.

Prepare your dough balls as for the first 2 succulents. This time roll them into thinner, longer cones.

Assemble them starting with the smallest in the middle.

Then add the medium petals all around, then the larger ones.

Roll by pinching the base to weld it together.

Cut the base with a blade.

Using a brush and purple dry pastel, colour in only the tops of the petals.

Bake for 15 minutes at 110°C to pre-cook the succulents and avoid deforming them during the following steps.

While baking, place some liquid Fimo on the lid and coat the entire surface with a silicone brush or your finger.

Condition and prepare a thin sheet of chocolate polymer clay. About 1 mm. Place it on the lid so as to cover the entire top. Chase the bubbles with your finger, do not hesitate to pierce the dough to evacuate the air stuck.

Trim the excess dough and trim the back of the lid.

Make a Brillant with aluminium foil, place on the lid and cover it with a thin layer of pastry.

Push out all the bubbles and weld the base by pressing with your fingers.

Cut and remove the excess dough.

Texture with a foam mat.

Let your pre-baked succulents cool and glue them with liquid Fimo on the Brillant.

Press into the dough to ensure a good bond. Do the same for all your succulents.

To make small white gravel, cut roughly in white polymer clay cubes more or less large.

Roll them with your fingertips to round off the corners and voilà! Your gravel is ready.

Arrange them all around your succulents, making sure to put liquid Fimo beforehand.

Put your lid in the oven for 30 minutes at 110°C. Your lid is ready.

For the second idea, pretty poppies, coat the lid with liquid Fimo as for the previous project.

This time make a Brillant with scraps of pasta. Lay the top and smooth the edges so that there are no demarcations.

Condition and prepare a thin sheet of 1 mm hand. Place it on the lid and smooth out the bubbles.

Trim off excess dough, polish the back of the lid.

Cut finely with a blade and mix a small piece of tropical green polymer clay and leaf green.

Roll it into a thin roll to make the flower stems.

Lay out thin rolls and press lightly to adhere the pasta.

To make the poppies, roll small balls of red Fimo and with a dotting tool, press the center of the ball, make a small circular movement. You will get a small corolla.

Glue it by pressing in the center with the dotting tool. Make different sizes for a better effect.

For the center of the flowers, make tiny balls of black clay and glue them with the dotting tool.

Bake for 30 minutes at 110°C. After baking and cooling, varnish only the center of the flowers. Your lid is ready and looks beautiful!

For the 3rd idea, spring bouquet, prepare a lid covered with white paste and different 1mm plates of the colors of your choice.

With the help of this type of cutter, make several flower cuts in each plate.

Texture the petals and centres of the flowers.

Use a dotting tool to texture the white clay and place your flowers on top. To make sure they stick properly, put a small drop of liquid Fimo on the white clay before pressing the dotting tool into the centre of the flower.

Arrange all your flowers as you wish and bake at 110°C for 30 minutes.

Your lid is ready and will bring a nice flowery touch to your decoration.
