You won't be able to knot your wire to the clasp. Knots are impossible to make, as the wire is semi-rigid. The strongest way toadd a clasp to wired wire is to use a crush bead. Crush beads are small, flexible metal beads that are flattened and then folded in half on the wire. To flatten and fold the bead in half, use special crush pliers. These pliers have a notch to mark the center of the pearl for easier folding. You can also use flat-tipped pliers to finish folding and flattening the pearl. Some people simply prefer to crush the pearl with flat-nosed pliers rather than fold it in half. In our tutorial, it's important to fold the bead to be crushed in half, as this will allow it to be slipped into a 4 mm silver bead and hidden.
