Lava Stone Bracelet

How do I make a bracelet from lava stone?

Men's bracelets are gaining in popularity year after year. They're a great way to stand out and add a personal touch to any outfit. In this tutorial, we show you how to make a bracelet with silver galvanized lava stone and lava stone beads. This bracelet is perfect for Valentine's Day, Father's Day or as a birthday gift.

Lava stone, with its naturally porous texture and intense color, is at the heart of this bracelet. Combined with silver galvanized beads, the bracelet offers an eye-catching yet elegantly understated visual contrast. The galvanized beads are real lava stones coated with silver metal.

This tutorial is designed to be accessible, whether you're experienced or a beginner in the world of DIY (Do It Yourself). However, you'll need a little patience and precision to achieve a successful finish with crushable beads. The best way to make a bracelet with heavy beads, such as stone beads, is to use wired wire. You won't be able to knot your wire to the clasp. Knots are impossible to make, as the wire is semi-rigid. The strongest way toadd a clasp to wired wire is to use a crush bead. Crush beads are small, flexible metal beads that are flattened and then folded in half on the wire. Beforehand, you'll have passed the wire through a wire guard to form a strong loop into which you'll place the clasp. To watch a video of this technique, click here: How to use crush beads

To flatten and fold the bead in half, use special crush pliers. These pliers have a notch to mark the center of the pearl for easier folding. You can also use flat-tipped pliers to finish folding and flattening the pearl. Some people simply prefer to crush the pearl with flat-nosed pliers rather than fold it in half. In our tutorial, it's important to fold the bead to be crushed in half, as this will allow it to be slipped into a 4 mm silver bead and hidden. If you just want to flatten it, you'll need 4 mm pearl covers.

Give a handmade gift with your personal touch; don't hesitate to adapt the model. Whether it's for Valentine's Day, Father's Day or a birthday, a lava stone and silver-plated pearl bracelet is the perfect gift.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Lava Stone Bracelet : Step 1

Cut about 35 cm of cord (length may vary according to the size of your wrist). Thread a squeezable bead and the wire protector. Then thread the wire through the ring of one of the two parts of the clasp. Slide the clasp up to the wire guard.

Pass the end of the wire back through the bead to be crushed, leaving a few centimetres overhanging. Use crush pliers to flatten and fold the crush bead in half. Finish flattening the bead with flat-nose pliers. Pull on the clasp and wire to check if the wire is trapped.

Step 2
Lava Stone Bracelet : Step 2

Thread 3 silver 4 mm beads. The addition of these small beads will make it easier to pass the clasp bar through the hoop. Pass the first silver bead over the bead to be crushed to hide it. Next, thread 3 8 mm lava stone beads, 1 8 mm galvanized bead, 1 10 mm lava stone bead, 1 8 mm galvanized bead, 3 8 mm lava stone beads, 1 8 mm galvanized beade 8 mm, 1 lava stone bead 10 mm, 1 galvanized bead 8 mm, 3 lava stone beads 8 mm, 1 galvanized bead 8 mm, 1 lava stone bead 10 mm, 1 galvanized bead 8 mm, 3 lava stone beads 8 mm. Finish with 3 silver beads 4 mm. This bead chain fits an 18.5 cm wrist.

Measure the bracelet and adjust the bead chain to achieve the desired length. Make the bracelet 1.5 cm longer than the wrist, measuring without the clasp, i.e. from the 4 mm silver bead at the beginning to the 4 mm silver bead at the end.

Step 3
Lava Stone Bracelet : Step 3

Thread a crush pearl, a wire protector and the wire and wire protector through the clasp ring. Thread the wire end through the crush bead, the 3 silver beads and the next lava bead. Tighten the wire and flatten the bead, then fold it in half. Slide one of the silver beads onto the bead to be crushed. Cut off the excess wire.

Bonjour,
