We're sure you'll love this DIY wool bonnet tutorial. When you're just starting out with knitting needles and crochet hooks, knitting a bonnet is, contrary to what you might think, much easier and quicker. And the results are just as good. Of course, we're not talking about the knitting machine of our childhood, which enabled us to create wool puddings, but a much larger knitting machine, with more pins. The techniques used, however, are the same. You'll need 3 to 4 hours for an adult hat. Beware, you'll be the envy of many, and you'll have to knit a lot more than just a beanie!
To knit this hat, you'll need either 2 balls size 5 or 6 of 100 sts, in this case Knitty 6 wool, which you'll double, or 1 ball size 10 of 150 sts. If it's less than 150 m, you may need to connect it to a second one, depending on the size of your hat. 1 single 100 m ball is just enough for an XS or children's cap.
