How to make Christmas wreaths?

Christmas is the perfect time to get creative, because there's so much to create! It's the perfect time to let your imagination run riot, making baubles to decorate the tree, a beautiful festive table, a lovely advent calendar to look forward to at Christmas... and of course, the Christmas wreath to hang on the front door! And of course, the Christmas wreath to hang on the front door!
The wreath is the essential element for a successful decoration. It's the first thing that greets your guests and plunges them straight into the magic of Christmas.

Follow this tutorial to make your own natural-style Christmas wreath using acorn shells, pine cones, fir branches, gold ribbon and other accessories. Hang it all on a round base and you're done!

And a natural Christmas wreath doesn't require a lot of materials! Most of what you'll need to make this original Christmas wreath comes from nature. Gather your pickings on a walk in the woods (don't forget to bring a bag with you!). You can even get your kids involved: they'll be delighted to help you in your quest for the prettiest pine cone!
For this tutorial, we've chosen to use acorn shells. But if you can't find any, you can replace them with another natural element, such as seeds or pistachio shells...
Here's a cheap and easy Christmas wreath idea!

Tutorial steps

Step 1
DIY natural Christmas wreath : Step 1

Wrap 8-10 cm of jute cord around your Styrofoam wreath. To begin with, you can tie a knot, passing the cord over it to conceal it. If you don't want it to move, remember to apply a few dabs of glue directly to the wreath, then wrap the cord around it.

Step 2

You'll need oak acorns for this step. Detach the fruit from its shell and work only with it. Glue the shells one by one, applying a drop of glue to the crown with the glue gun. To make them look pretty, you'll need to squeeze them as tightly as possible.

Step 3

After the hulls, roll up jute cord again as in step 1. Cut 6 lengths of jute cord, each 20 cm long, and place them in a knot around the wreath, with a space of 4 to 5 cm between each tie. Cut fir branches into 15 cm lengths and thread them under the cord ties to hold them in place.

Step 4

Add volume by adding pine cones. Wrap the base with copper wire, then wrap the wire around the crown. Place them on the jute cord.

Step 5
DIY natural Christmas wreath : Step 5

Take 3 meters of gold ribbon to wrap around the remaining part of the wreath. Finish by making a big loop and ironing it in.

Step 6
DIY natural Christmas wreath : Step 6

Add touches of white acrylic paint for a snow effect. Remember to paint one of the wooden balls. Thread 3 wooden balls into the gold ribbon, with the middle one painted white.

Step 7
DIY natural Christmas wreath : Step 7

Put dots of glitter glue on the hulls of the acorns and on the pine cones. Don't wait for it to dry, just pour glitter over it quickly.

Das irisierende Schrägband entspricht nicht der Abbildung des fertigen Kranzes. In diesem ist das Band goldglänzend, das Schrägband ist beige. Warum gibt es das Band nicht in gold wie auf der Abbildung?
