How to make a raffia fringed mirror?

The cold makes you want to snuggle up under the duvet at the start of the year? For that, nothing better than an afternoon in a cocooning atmosphere. Today we are offering you to make a fringed mirror for top decoration!

Quite fast, you can choose to make several mirrors of various sizes and colors to create a messy atmosphere on your walls.

First of all, you will need to bring your hot glue gun . Also, you can obviously make this mirror in other colors. Find all of our raffia strand references on our site.

The stages :

Step 1 : Unroll your raffia reel to extend it over its entire length. Select a few strands, about 5 or 6. Take more or less strands depending on the thickness you want to give to each of the small bundles of fringes that make up the mirror.

Step 2 : Take one end of the strands and fold into a short length. Block with a simple knot. Cut the desired length. Continue on the same strands until the length is too short to make a new package. Select a few more strands to repeat the process as many times as necessary to cover the entire perimeter of your mirror.

Step 3 : Place your mirror on the right side and arrange the fringes on the reverse side to check that you have enough. Glue using the glue gun.
For more details, you may or may not let the knots appear on the front or hide them behind the mirror. Let it dry.

For a better finish, you can cut a circle of identical diameter in cardboard and fix it at the back. You can also add a hook so that you can fix it to the wall.

So, do you validate?

NB: The quantity of raffia used here corresponds to an 18cm mirror. If you choose a larger or smaller mirror, remember to adjust the amount of raffia ball needed.
