How to cover a pearl with Miyuki Delicas 11/0 ?

Create your own Miyuki Delicas pearl beads through this video tutorial. Learn how to cover a wooden pearl with pearls and mount it on a primary-colored necklace, made of Lapis Lazulibeads, glass beads and wood, all embellished with a silk imitation pompom .

The technique used here for beaded balls is the circular Peyote technique. Of course, other methods exist to make beaded balls. Do not hesitate to discover our other tutorial on the circular Peyote: « Create a DIY necklace in Peyote woven rope in Miyuki Delicas pearl tube »

Tips for following this tutorial:
- By pressing the "Settings" icon at the bottom right then "Speed", you can slow down the video. 0.25 being the slowest speed and 2 the fastest.
- Do not hesitate to play with the pause button to have the time to follow each step

Schemes:

The diagrams below will allow you to create the two parts of the pearl that you will then assemble directly on the wooden bead.

PART B:

Recommendations:

  • Do not over tighten the weave and try it regularly on the wooden bead to make sure they fit together.

  • If you decide to change the pattern of the proposed pattern, keep in mind that 15/0 rockeries help increase the curvature of the weave. In this tutorial the differences in the size of the beads are of great importance as well as the tension exerted on the thread.

  • Once the technique is assimilated, nothing prevents you from creating smaller or larger beads with your own scheme!
