Brass wire necklace with blue beads and PureCrystal drops

How to wrap beads around a wire to create a necklace?

You may have come across it on social networks: this brass wire and bead necklace has been a big trend for a few months now! We've seen it used in a variety of ways, including with freshwater beads or crystals. We've decided to sublimate it with blue crystal beads from our PureCrystal brand. This tutorial requires very little material: brass wire, beads, pliers and a good dose of patience. This sparkling necklace will undoubtedly add a touch of refinement to your outfits. Ideally, it will be enhanced if you wear it with a low-cut neckline for an event, for example!

Accessible from an intermediate level upwards, this necklace presents no particular difficulty, but it does require concentration and time to wind the wire and beads. It takes just over 1h30 to complete. In just a few steps, you'll have a refined, charming piece of jewelry, which you can personalize to suit your tastes by varying the colors of PureCrystal crystals. You can opt, for example, for shades of green or pink - to be found in the product variations, below the material. It's also a great handmade gift idea, to give (or to give yourself)!

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Brass wire necklace with blue beads and PureCrystal drops : Step 1

Start by cutting about 50cm of 2mm brass wire with wire cutters.
Using round-tipped pliers, start by forming a loop on one end of the wire, then form your necklace around your neck. Cut back the length of wire if necessary, then form a new loop at the end of the wire.

Step 2
Brass wire necklace with blue beads and PureCrystal drops : Step 2

Cut about 1m50 of 0.6mm brass wire and make about 3 turns with it on one end of the collar to secure the wire. To make it easier, you can use a pair of flat pliers and remember to fold the end of the wire over to avoid pricking yourself.

Slide the first round PureCrystal Reinvented Dark Sapphire (dark blue) bead onto the 0.6mm brass wire.

I've chosen the quantity of beads according to the length of the necklace, which can be adapted to your neck size and desired effect.

Step 3
Brass wire necklace with blue beads and PureCrystal drops : Step 3

Slide the bead onto the 2mm brass wire.

Step 4
Brass wire necklace with blue beads and PureCrystal drops : Step 4

Once your bead is at the end of the wire, take the 0.6mm wire and fold it back. Make sure your bead is positioned to the right of the 2mm wire.

Step 5
Brass wire necklace with blue beads and PureCrystal drops : Step 5

Make a first bead around the 2mm wire, then a second bead. You can now move on to the next bead and repeat this operation all along the necklace. Always keep an eye on the orientation of your beads to ensure that they stay firmly on the outside of the necklace.

I chose to place my beads in the following order:
- 1 round bead PureCrystal Reinvented Dark Sapphire (dark blue)
- 1 round bead PureCrystal Reinvented Cool Blue (light blue)
- 1 PureCrystal Crystal round bead (transparent)
- 1 PureCrystal Reinvented Cool Blue round bead (light blue)
- 1 PureCrystal Reinvented Dark Sapphire round bead (dark blue)
- 1 PureCrystal Reinvented Cool Blue round bead (light blue)
- 1 round bead PureCrystal Crystal (transparent)

Follow this sequence to the end of the necklace.

Step 6
Brass wire necklace with blue beads and PureCrystal drops : Step 6

When you've threaded your last bead, fold the wire back so that it goes around the 2mm wire several times. Try to pass it through the loop formed with the 2mm wire, reopening it with pliers. This will ensure that your wire is well secured. Once you've done this, close the loop and make sure the 0.6mm thread is pulled back tightly, so as not to prick your skin.

Step 7
Brass wire necklace with blue beads and PureCrystal drops : Step 7

Finally, open a ring and slip the PureCrystal drop into it. Close the ring in one of the two loops formed at the ends of the necklace.
Repeat this step for the second loop. Your necklace is finished!

Bonjour,
Vous pouvez remplacer le fil laiton 2 mm par du fil aluminium de même diamètre, la référence en noir est WIR-120.
Les rondes PureCrystal 8 mm existent aussi en Light siam, Siam, Scarlet.
