Men's Paracord bracelet

How to make rope bracelets for men?

Looking for a sturdy, easy-to-make handmade gift idea for men? Are you a designer yourself and want to make your own bracelets? The paracord bracelet is a must! Originally used in parachute lines, paracord or parachute cord is an extremely strong, multifilament nylon thread, also known as "survival cord". It still appeals to jewelry designers today, thanks to its strength, flexibility and wide choice of patterns and colors.

Extremely easy to use, paracord lends itself particularly well to the creation of braided survival bracelets using the macramé overhand knot technique, but it can also be used to make necklaces, key rings and personalized accessories. In this men's bracelet tutorial, we'll be focusing on a quick and easy version.

In this DIY, I've combined paracord with a stainless steel manila clasp and a large bead. I used 4x2 mm flattened cord to make this bracelet. Other colors and patterns are available. You'll find more options in the product variations section of the hardware list.

It's an excellent choice when you want to offer a personalized piece of handmade jewelry to a man, or simply to create original accessories that will last over time. Let your creativity flow, experiment with different types of knots and braids, and vary color and material combinations for a unique result.

Remember: paracord isn't just for adventurers! It fits perfectly into the world of costume jewelry and opens the way to many creative possibilities.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Men's Paracord bracelet : Step 1

For a small men's 16 cm wrist, cut 50 cm of rope. For a larger wrist, cut 65 cm. You can adjust the size later.

Fold the cut rope in half. Pass the loop through the clasp, then thread both ends of the parachute cord through the loop. You've just made a lark's knot.

Step 2
Men's Paracord bracelet : Step 2

Tighten the lark's knot and apply jewelry glue to the knot under the top rope.

Step 3
Men's Paracord bracelet : Step 3

Wrap a small piece of scotch tape around the end of the strings to make it easier to thread them through the large stainless steel bead.

Step 4
Men's Paracord bracelet : Step 4

Pass both ends of the rope through the bead again. If this doesn't work, start wrapping the tape again. Make sure it's tight around the end and sticking out. Cut the tape ends to a point so that you can grab them on the other side of the bead and pull the cord through the hole.

Adjust the length of the bracelet. It should be 2.5 cm longer than the person's wrist. Cut the paracord ends 8 mm from the bead.

Step 5
Men's Paracord bracelet : Step 5

Place a ring in the loop formed by the two cords. This ring prevents the bead from slipping out of the bracelet, but also makes it easier to close. To open and close it, you need to unscrew the bar of the manila clasp. It will be easier to pass this bar through a ring than through the loop formed by the two cords, although the latter is also possible.

Cut 25 cm of C-LON Beading Cord. Tie it to the base of the bead. Tie a double knot. Apply glue to the knot and to the pieces of cord you'll be covering. Wrap the thread around the paracord. Wrap the wire around the other end too.

Step 6
Men's Paracord bracelet : Step 6

Once the winding is complete, the paracord ends hidden and the glue dry, pass the remaining wire end through the wound wires and to the other side of the bead. Then recut it close to the bead.
