Once again this year, charm necklaces are a must-have trend! Charms offer an infinite number of possibilities for personalizing your jewelry to suit your desires. As earrings, bracelets and even rings, charms are entirely adaptable to every taste. For this tutorial, we've chosen to present you with a marine charms necklace, in keeping with this marine trend, which blends elegance and the spirit of escape. If you're a fan of golden beaches, shimmering foam and soothing waves, this will be the ideal necklace for your vacation by the sea or ocean.
This necklace is made of stainless steel, a tough, durable material. Stainless steel is water-resistant, so it can be worn anywhere. You can shower or bathe with your jewel, as it won't oxidize. Be careful, however, with swimming pools and saltwater: chlorine is very aggressive, and saltwater can tarnish and rust your jewelry. So opt for marine-grade stainless steel: 316 and 316L. For more information, see stainless steel features.
Charms also have another special feature: they're fully customizable! In this tutorial, we offer you inspiration on the marine theme, but you can also modify your charms, your colors and even the theme: floral, astral, colorful... For example, why not make this necklace, but in pink and gold? With a pink, blue and gold cord or a pink, plum and gold cord, pink shell beads, pink chili charms and a pink ceramic fish bead? Mix colors and charms and personalize your necklace ad infinitum! That's the advantage of charm necklaces: they're modular and easy to personalize.
Reproduce this necklace and don't hesitate to share it on our social networks, @perlesandco on Facebook and Instagram or in the reviews at the bottom of the page? We love to see your creations :)

Start by wedging the cord into the lace clip. Hold the end cap and the cord with a pair of pliers, and using flat-nose pliers, fold the edges together.

When the cord is firmly seated in the end cap, open a ring and pass the lace clip through the ring at the end of the chain, between the large links and the extension chain.

Start "braiding" your necklace: pass the cord through one large link of the chain, then the next large link and so on.

When you reach the end, don't cut the cord, but attach the lace clip first. That way, all you have to do is secure the cord in the end cap, then when everything is secure and the right size, you can cut the cord.

Then take your beads and 2 nails. Pass each bead through a nail and, using round-tipped pliers, loop the nail.
If you don't know how to make a loop on a nail, watch our video on how to make a loop on a nail.

Then hang your charms on the chain using the rings. Close the rings securely and your necklace is ready.

Repeat all the steps, this time choosing charms, beads and chains in a pretty shade of yellow. Here we've used the following references: ACX-101, CRD-518, STL-468, CERAM-917, CERAM-812, SST-245, SST-038 and PLA-968.
