In this tutorial, find out how to turn this trend into an anklet with a silk ribbon and colorful charms to give a trendy touch to your summer looks. This is a very simple tutorial for even the most novice designer. The idea is to transform pearls into charms and attach them to a colorful ribbon. How easy is that? All you have to do is slide the beads onto a nail and create a loop to easily attach them to the silk ribbon. Let your imagination and creativity run wild! You can also mix and match glass beads, ceramic pearls and gold or silver charms. There's no limit to the jewelry you can personalize!

We're going to start by making charms with our cauri shells so that we can hang a ring on them. To do this, take a flexible brass wire (e.g. FCU-979) and thread it through the hole in the shell.
Loop one side of the wire around the top of the shell. Wrap the other side of the wire around the loop and cut off both ends.
For other charms, simply insert a flat-headed nail inside the pearl and use your pliers to form a loop on the top of the pearl. You may find our instructions useful: How to form a loop on a nail or jewelry pin.
If your bead has a hole too large in diameter and your nail goes through it, you can add a round bead to the bottom of the bead to avoid this.
Add a ring and your charm is complete.
Then assemble your necklace, starting with the middle charm so that it's centered.
Place a charm and a gold bead on the necklace and tie knots with your ribbon on each side to prevent the charm from slipping off the ribbon.
Do the same with all the other charms, placing them as you wish.
Your jewel is finished!
