Start by weaving the birds in brick stitch. Follow the diagram above to weave the two little birds. Note that only the increase and decrease techniques are required.

How do I make the first row in ladder stitch?

First, cut 2 m of thread. Then thread each end of the thread through a needle.

For the first row, following the grid, thread the first bead using one needle and pass through using the second needle (1), then pull the thread (2).

Repeat these steps for the second bead in the grid (3). You should have 9 beads at the end of the row (4).

Note that this explanation of the first row is taken from another tutorial: a ginko leaf necklace (that's why you have different-colored beads in the photos).

Start with a first strand of pearls almost all the way inside the ring. Pass through the first bead twice in succession, turning around the ring of course, and position the bead perpendicular to the ring (1).

Next, thread a new bead, turn around the ring and pass through this bead (2). Position the bead correctly and pull on the thread (3).

Repeat for all beads in the first row.

Now you can start weaving brick stitch flowers and leaves. Here's an example of how to create a leaf. The same principle applies to a flower. It's the same as for a decrease at the beginning of a row.

Thread two beads and prick your needle between the second and third bead of the previous row, counting from the bead where your thread exits (1). Pass through the second bead upwards (2).

Then pass through the first bead downwards (3) and again through the second bead upwards (4).

Your two beads are now aligned (5). Thread a new bead (to form a third row).

Then pass through the bead of the previous row on your way down (6) and through the one next to it on your way up (7). Repeat this loop again (8) to secure this bead. You've created a leaf! Congratulations!

Now all you have to do is weave through the work to create another leaf or flower, and continue all the way around the ring.

Attach a ring to the highest bead of the bird weave and 2.5cm of chain to the same ring. Then attach a ring to the other end of the chain and connect it to the hole in the center of the creole. All that's left is to attach the ear hook to the creole using the clamps.

Repeat for the second loop.
