Create your own creoles with small natural garnet stones very easily. This jewel is made with creoles and gold-plated stainless steel wire. Stainless steel wire is much harder to cut and shape than copper wire. That's why you'll need shears to cut your wire, so as not to damage your traditional wire cutters. This is also the reason why this tutorial is indicated as an intermediate level tutorial: the wire is harder to shape and you need to measure your force to place the wire in the desired position without breaking the beads. If you'd like to make these creoles, but are looking for an easier-to-shape wire, you can use 0.4 mm copper wire or 0.4 mm gold filled wire. Note also that the gold of gold-filled stainless steel wire fades a little with skin friction. If you can, wear gloves to avoid damaging it.
Thanks to their finesse, these creoles are both sophisticated and discreet. They're perfect for work or to match your favorite patterned blouse. The burgundy red of garnet complements many other colors: turquoise, orange or even fuchsia.
You can make these creoles with other gemstone beads such as Agate or Sodalite, but also with seed beads or other small pearls. Other creole designs are also available. Feel free to adapt this idea to your own style. Here are other creole tutorials using more or less the same technique, but with other creole and pearl models:
Cut 35 cm of gold-plated stainless steel wire. Note that this wire is a little hard and difficult to handle. To cut it, use a pair of wire cutters. Wrap the wire around the base of the creole. Use flat-nose pliers to help you pull the wire tightly around the creole. Make five turns.
String five or six pearls and one golden pearl, then wrap them around the creole. Don't force the beads into shape, as you may break them. Try to make the turns a little tighter. Make about one complete turn every 5 mm. String garnet and gold beads randomly. In all, place ten golden pearls on the creole. Thread about ten beads at a time before making the turns.
Finish the creole by wrapping at least 8 mm of wire around the end. Use the pliers to tighten the turns. Cut off the excess wire with the shears and fold the end over the creole with the flat pliers. You can use a little super glue at the beginning and end.
