How to make trendy earrings in less than a minute?

Create trendy earrings in under a minute with our acetate hoop earrings and pendants. Open the hoop earrings, slip on the charms and pendants and you're ready to go. See below for different earring ideas:

  • Several earring models with pendants simply threaded onto the creoles and accompanied by an imitation gemstone charm.
  • A leopard model made with small delica miyuki 11/0 pearls. In this case, the steps are a little longer.

To prevent the elements from slipping out of the earring when threaded, we recommend stopper beads on each side. Stopper beads are small metal beads with silicone or rubber washers inside. Once strung on a metal wire or soft material, these beads won't slip, provided the wire is larger than the bead hole. Find out more about stopper beads:"What is a stopper bead?" and learn how to use a stopper bead to make a sliding clasp on a thin bracelet. By the way, the stopper beads used here are also used in the latter link.

Flower petal pendants are made of acetate. Cellulose acetate is a plastic made from cotton or tree pulp. It is therefore a polymer of natural origin. We have many other acetate and resin pendant designs. Don't hesitate to take a look. Acetate earrings have been very fashionable in recent years for their 70s-80s retro feel. You'll find them in leopard, tortoise shell and solid colors in magazines and ready-to-wear brands. They're usually large earrings. Fortunately, acetate is a fairly light material, so you can wear maxi ear rings all day long.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
3-petal earrings in acetate and gold leaves : Step 1

To make these red petal earrings, simply open the creoles, then slip in the acetate pendant, the gold leaf pendant and finally the peach moonstone charm. Be careful which way you thread the red pendants, as there are decorative grooves on one side only.

If you don't want the pendants to slip out of the earring when you thread it, add a stopper bead before the elements and a stopper bead after. You'll need 4 per pair.

To prevent the earrings from opening too easily, bend the stem a little more with flat-nose pliers.

Step 2

To make the tortoiseshell pattern, thread a stopper bead and place it on the other side of the creole. Then thread 3 Miyuki Delica 11/0 Opaque Espresso Mat, 1 Delica Galvanized Gold Duracoat, 3 Espresso, 2 Gold, 3 Espresso, 3 Gold, 3 Espresso beads.

Step 3

String the tortoiseshell pendant and gold leaf, then string the same beads as in step 1, but in reverse order. Finish with a stopper bead. You'll need a total of 4 stopper beads to make the pair of creoles. Try on the earring in front of a mirror and adjust the position of the stopper beads.

Step 4

To make this version, we used Bleu Roi 3-petal pendants and imitation turquoise charms.

Step 5

These earrings are made with fawn marble pendants and peach moonstone charms.

Step 6

For these, use olive marble pendants and moonstone charms. Labradorite charms are also very pretty.

Finally, for the last model, use ecru pendants and imitation turquoise charms.
