How to make flowers from seed beads?

With the arrival of warm weather, we want to accessorize our outfits with beautiful, colorful jewelry. That's why we're bringing you this summer's L'Escapadecollection of gorgeous, colorful jewelry. Spring and summer are all about flowers in small pearls! For my part, I've made a necklace with these little handmade flowers and mini heishis beads!

In this video, we'll show you how to make these flowers with seed beads, and how to make a necklace that's perfect for warm weather. In this jewel, we've used size 8/0 or 9/0 seed beads, but you can experiment with different finishes, types and sizes of beads. It all depends on how you want your jewel to look. Here's our full range of seed beads. You can choose the colors you like, or even make a gold and white version.

This tutorial doesn't require a great deal of technique: it's simply a matter ofstringing pearls at random, with some jewelry mounting to close the necklace. We do recommend that you bring along a pair of crushable pearl pliers, to guarantee the strength of the assembly over time! Otherwise, a simple pair of flat-nose pliers will do the trick.

The price of the final basket may seem expensive, but with all the beads in the kit, you'll be able to create a multitude ofother projects with rocailles. That's what we love about DIY! You can also use leftover beads you find at home and make your own what's shown in this tutorial.

If you reproduce this tutorial, we'd love to see the result, so don't hesitate to share it with us on social networks with #perlesandco or by tagging us @perlesandco in your posts! Here goes the tutorial :)

Tutorial steps

Step 1

Cut 70 to 80 cm of nylon thread, depending on the length of necklace required. Bear in mind that pearl flowers consume quite a lot of thread.

Thread a crush tube, then thread a closed ring and pass the thread back through the crush tube. Take a pair of crush pearl pliers and crush it. Add a crush pearl cover to the crushed pearl.

Step 2

Start stringing pearls, alternating heishis, seed beads and freshwater pearls, passing them through the 2 wires. The aim is to get a random result. Add gemstone star pearls or any other fancy pearl of your choice.

Step 3

For beaded flowers, thread 5 beads of the desired color for your petals, then thread 1 gold bead for the center bead of your flower.

Thread your thread through the first bead.

Thread 2 or 3 more beads, depending on your preferred finish.

Pass your thread through the 4th bead you threaded at the beginning and pull to form your flower! The flower appears :)

Step 4

Make as many flowers as you like and continue threading your beads to the desired length.

Step 5

To close your necklace, repeat the first step, adding a crush tube, a closed ring and threading the wire back through the crush tube.

Then add an open ring with your clasp on one side and an open ring with your extension chain on the other.

Your summer necklace is complete!
