DIY Tila Miyuki bracelets with crystal

How to put a crystal in a Tila bracelet?

Tila Miyuki beaded bracelets represent an elegant marriage of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and contemporary design sophistication. These unique pieces of jewelry are made from Tila Miyuki beads, a specific type of glass beads made in Japan, known for their quality, consistency and variety of colors.Tila beads are a special type of flat, rectangular beads with two parallel holes that offer endless possibilities for jewelry design.

These bracelets can be made with beads of different colors and effects, creating endless combinations to reflect the style and personality of each person. They can be worn for any occasion, from everyday wear to special events. Their growing popularity is a testament to the popularity of this handcrafted jewelry, which adds a touch of sophistication and originality to any wardrobe.

In this tutorial, we'll offer you some small variations for these iconic Tila bracelets: use small, pre-set rectangular crystals and rectangular gold metal beads.

But why use gold metal beads when Miyuki Tila beads come in gold plated? Simply because Miyuki's gold plated coatings contain nickel, an allergenic metal that is not allowed, above a certain threshold and according to European regulations, in jewelry. These gold plated beads can only be used for decoration. Despite the many requests for gold-plated Tila beads, Miyuki has not yet succeeded in developing a gold plating for Tila that can be worn as jewelry. The only way to put gold beads in a Tila bracelet is to use the rectangular gold metal beads.

Be careful, the rectangular crystals have only one hole, so they rotate on the bracelet.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
DIY Tila Miyuki bracelets with crystal : Step 1

Measure your wrist size. Cut a piece of wire that is twice the size of your wrist + 10 cm. Thread the carabiner onto the wire and place it in the center. Add a seed bead size 15/0 on each side.

Then thread the tila beads on both ends of the wire at the same time. For this design, we started with a cream half tila bead, then 3 dark blue tila beads, 1 gold cymbal bead, 3 mustard tila beads.

Step 2

After the mustard beads, thread a 15/0 seed bead onto each end of the wire and then thread the wires through the crystal hole. Place 1 seed bead on each end of the wire again.

String 3 dark blue tila beads, 1 gold cymbal bead, 3 mustard tila beads, 2 seed beads, 1 crystal, 2 seed beads. Repeat this sequence one more time and finish with 3 dark blue tila beads, 1 golden cymbal bead, 3 mustard tila beads, 1 cream half tila bead.

Adjust the amount of beads according to the size of your wrist.

Step 3

To finish the bracelet, thread a seed bead on each end of the wire. Cut the extension chain to the desired length. Thread it on and then thread a crush bead. Cross the second piece of wire into the crush bead. Squeeze and flatten the squeeze bead with a pair of flat pliers. Make sure it holds by pulling on it. Try to iron the wire ends into the hole of the beads to hide them and then, after a few beads, cut the excess wire.

Your bracelet is finished. You can replace the small heart charm at the end of the chain with another charm. We have a suggestion for a charm with a small crystal in the variation part.

Ciao, secondo me stai esagerando troppo.
