Gold plated stainless steel and pearl drop earrings tutorial

How to hang pearls on a pendant?

Discover how to make art nouveau inspired earrings with this easy jewelry technique. You'll learn how to attach pearly beads to wavy drop pendants with wire. We'll finish turning these pendants into earrings by attaching ear studs to the pendants. The studs and pendants are made of gold-plated 316L stainless steel.316L stainless steel, also known as surgical steel, is a very corrosion resistant metal so it will not oxidize or rust.

The pearly beads give a very chic look to these earrings. You can also use gemstones or natural freshwater pearls. The wrapping technique shown in this tutorial can be adapted to other types of earrings. Here is a list of tutorials that use the same technique and that you may also like:

You can make these earrings in two ways: either randomly as in the example, or trying to distribute the beads evenly between the hollows of the waves. If you choose the second option, you will need 19 beads. You can also add a few small gold beads to give these earrings more detail.

These wavy drops come in three sizes. The drops in this tutorial are the middle size. The other two sizes are 31x25 mm and 51x31 mm. If you choose the large size, make sure you have enough beads.

Tutorial steps

Thread a first bead and wrap the thread a little further onto the drop, making almost two turns.

Continue to attach beads in a random fashion. Try to get beads on both sides of the pendant. Sometimes you can string two or three beads at once before wrapping the wire around the drop.

Step 5

Open the rings of the studs, being careful not to break them, and close them on the pendant. Glue the cabochons to the studs with a small drop of glue.

Bonjour,
Elles doivent être disposées de manière irrégulière sur le fil de cuivre, accompagnées des perles nacrées. Vous pouvez les voir sur la photo du rendu final.
