Create an original pair of earrings with amethyst gemstone chips that wrap around a rectangular primer. These trendy jewels are very simple to make and give a chic, uncluttered look. If you've never used metal wires to attach beads to a support, now's the time to take the plunge - there are lots of interesting DIY costume jewelry pieces to create with this technique.
You can use this tutorial with other gem pearl chip colors, and the earstuds on which we've glued the cabochons also come in hook ear versions with the same cabochon diameter.
Cut 30 cm of metal wire, roll it on the side at the top of the rectangle, tightening it well so that it looks nice and even. Make the second earring as well, but wrap the wire on the opposite side to the first earring so that it looks like a mirror effect.
Pass a first chip through the wire, go around the primer and then turn it tightly around the base of the wire under the bead. Add another turn on the rectangle and then pass another stone in the wire.
Continue to thread your Amethyst stones until there are 5 on each side.
Make several turns of wire after the last chips before cutting flush to the back of the rectangle.
Put some strong glue in the hollows of the ear studs and then put your stone cabochons. Pass a ring in the ear nail then another in the hole of the rectangle, connect the two rings, your amethyst earrings are finished.
