How to weave beads on a bracelet with holes?

There are metal bracelets with a dedicated space to insert beads. This type of bracelet allows you to weave beads easily without a loom and without knowing the techniques of bead weaving. They are suitable for Miyuki delica 11/0 beads, but as you will see, you can also try to attach other types of beads. In this tutorial we also chose imitation hematite beads and small beads made of Carnelian, a beautiful stone with warm hues.

The stainless steel bracelet will stay in your wardrobe for many years. Indeed, stainless steel is a metal that does not oxidize or rust. So if you ever want to change the color of the bracelet later, you can simply cut the bead wire and reuse the bracelet to create a new bracelet with new beads.

It's a great idea for long-lasting jewelry. It also comes in gold. The gold galvanization (gold coating) can, however, fade over the years to reveal the silver stainless steel underneath. Keep this in mind when choosing your beads.

This bracelet is part of the Le Panier à Bijoux tutorial collection. It is a set of silver jewelry tutorials embellished with gemstones. These jewels will be your allies to start the new year on the right foot with new projects and activities. Don't hesitate to have a look at the other tutorials.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Tuto Miyuki stainless steel cuff bracelet : Step 1

Cut 1.5 m of thread and thread it onto a needle. Tie the thread to one of the holes in the bracelet. Thread 1 delica bead DB-2388, 1 mini-hematite bead, 1 DB-2388. Pass through the hole opposite the one you attached the wire to. Pass through the beads to get to the first hole. Go through the first hole from the outside of the bracelet to get the needle out on the inside.

Go through the second hole at the top. You can see the wire that connects the first hole and the second on the back of the bracelet and not on the front. Thread again 1 delica bead DB-2388, 1 mini-hematite bead, 1 DB-2388. Pass through the hole in front. Pass through the beads again to the second hole. Pass through the second hole from the outside of the bracelet to get the needle out on the inside.

Repeat this technique until the end of the bracelet. Attach again 1 DB-2388, 1 mini-hematite bead, 1 DB-2388 then three times 1 DB-2192, 1 DB-2388, 1 DB-2192.

Here are the following strings of beads:

  • 1 times 1 DB-2192, 1 mini-hematite, 1 DB-2192.
  • 2 times 3 DB-2192.
  • 1 time 1 DB-2192, 1 Carnelian shield bead, 1 DB-2192.
  • 1 time 1 Carnelian shield bead, 1 DB-2192, 1 Carnelian shield bead.
  • Then, string the same strings of mirrored beads.

Finish by tying the thread to a hole with a double knot, then thread it through the beads to hide it and cut it.
