Form the thread around the triboulet using your fingers. Wrap the thread around the desired size. Make a little more than two turns and cut off the excess thread.

In this wire ring tutorial, you will not only learn how to make a gold filled wire ring, but also how to form jewelry rings. Gold Filled wire is a metal wire made of brass on the inside and a layer of 12K or 14K gold on the outside. This layer of gold is much thicker and more resistant to wear than gold plating, although the gold used is generally less valuable than the latter. It is a material that allows you to have the benefit and appearance of gold for an affordable price.
In this tutorial, we'll show you how to form a ring with wire as well as the technique for creating your own jewelry rings. The wire used to create rings is 0.8mm soft gold filled wire. It is described as soft, but since it is rather thick, your ring will keep its shape and not deform easily.
The tools needed to make jewelry rings are jewelry pliers:
These tools are specific to our ring project, other methods and tools can be used to make rings and bands. The pliers listed can be used for many other projects as well. The ring gauge can be used to shape rings and measure them for size. In fact, if you want to know your ring size, we invite you to read our article on different methods to measure your ring size.
Want to practice making rings with wire? You can use another more affordable wire to create your rings. Discover another reference of copper wire in the variation section at the bottom of the page.

Form the thread around the triboulet using your fingers. Wrap the thread around the desired size. Make a little more than two turns and cut off the excess thread.

If you have just bought the pliers to create rings, wipe them with a cloth to remove the excess oil.
This step can be done with a few centimeters of gold filled wire if you have it. Otherwise, cut about 8 to 10 cm of wire. We will use this piece to create several rings.
Pinch off the end of the wire with the pliers, then wrap the remaining wire around the smaller stem. You can do this by hand. As you wrap the stem, loosen your grip on the wire with the pliers, turn the loop so you can continue and re-lock the wire.
After a while, you will get a tube that looks like a spring.

Remove the tube from the clamp and cut the wire turns with a fine flush cutter. Cut them a little at a time, always aligned with the previous cut. You have just created your jewelry joining rings.
For our ring, we will need 16 rings.

Close half of the rings. Slide the other half of the rings into a closed ring each and close them. This creates a kind of bead made with crossed rings.

String 4 cross ring beads, 1 gemstone bead and 4 cross ring beads on the ring. Be careful, on the picture they are not there, to make the picture more readable, but you have to string them.
Grab the two wires at 1.3 cm from the wire end and wrap the wire end three times around the center wire. Cut off the excess wire end and flatten the end against the center wire with the flat pliers so it doesn't scratch you.

Place the beads against the part made in the previous step and wrap the second piece of wire around the other side of the beads to lock them in the center.

With this jewelry technique, you can also make rings with gemstone beads only.
