You wish to make an original and personalized gift to your mother for her birthday but you don't have a precise idea of creation? This necklace will be perfect for Mother's Day. Create a long necklace with a coffee bean insert and freshwater pearl and ethnic charms. This is a great tutorial to get started with DIY costume jewelry creations as there is no special technique involved other than jewelry mounting and the technique to form a coshon tail loop on a nail or rod.

You can customize this necklace in the tones of your choice with our range of colored freshwater pearls but also small gemstone cabochons to stick on the ethnic charm.

The main advantages of stainless steel primers are the low maintenance they require because they do not tarnish or little over time and are still available at an affordable price. Discover our entire range of stainless steel primers now.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
For this necklace, you need about 40 cm of chain. Using a wire cutter, cut the chain in 2.
Take a stainless steel nail, thread a pink freshwater pearl. Pass the nail through the last link of the chain, form a loop leaving enough space to create a pigtail. Find the technical sheet to learn how to make this pigtail loop.
Tighten with flat pliers and cut the excess flush.
Step 2

Glue the 4mm rose quartz cabochon on the stainless steel charm. Let it dry for 24 hours.
Attach the charm with the cabochon to the last ring of the second piece of chain.
Thread the 2 pieces of chain through the navy link.
Adjust the hanging part of the necklace to the desired length.
Lock the two chain lengths together by passing an open ring through a link on each side, under the navy link spacer.
Step 3

Using an open ring, hang a clasp on the last link of the chain and an extension chain on the other side.

Step 4

Adjust the length of the necklace and cut the chain back if necessary.

Using an open ring, hang a clasp on the last link of the chain and an extension chain on the other side.
